Heat Pump Running Costs is an independent UK site that estimates what a heat pump costs to run at current energy prices. We don’t sell or install heat pumps.

How we make money

Where the figures come from

• Gas and electricity prices: Ofgem price cap averages for 1 October – 31 December 2026 (source).
• Cosy Octopus: the discount and peak uplift published by Octopus (source), applied to a day rate of 26.32p. Real rates vary by region.
• Home types: typical yearly gas use. Your own bill is a better guide.
• Boiler efficiency: 85%.

Privacy
